Australia East Coast Experience

Spend an incredible action-packed two months (or more!) in Australia. This program gives all the structure that you likely to need together with flexibility and the chance to incorporate some independent traveling if you wish to. A wonderful choice for those who have restricted time or just want a couple of months break with loads of organized activities. You can choose where and when you travel and what sort of activities you experience.

The Programme

You will begin in Sydney with a week of planned activities with a group of like-minded people, seeing the best sights in the City and making some great new friends! After your first week in Sydney you can decide whether to stay on for a while or jump on the Oz Experience Bus to head up the East Coast of the country.

The bus-pass takes you all way up to tropical Cairns in Northern Queensland. Once you’ve completed the bus pass you spend two weeks on a project in Cairns, volunteering in a Wildlife hospital with native Australian animals – the work is quite varied but you’ll get to experience a side of Australia most people don’t ever get to see and have a brilliant time doing it!

From Sydney up the East Coast to Cairns

Accommodation and meals

Your accommodation includes two nights in a hostel in the heart of Cairns that is included in the cost of the program. This gives you the opportunity to spend a couple of days exploring Cairns. The rooms are dorm style and facilities at the hostel include a fully equipped kitchen, TV lounge, a bar and Internet access.

Whilst volunteering, you stay on-site in basic, but clean caravans that have shared bathroom facilities. You are given three meals daily, which are usually prepared for you, although you may be required to help peel vegetables and wash up! (Vegetarians can be catered for). Snacks are also available throughout the day.
